Mikkel has been using a metal detector for over fifteen years, and for almost as long has run Detektor Danmark, the country’s largest Facebook group for metal detector users, as well as his Instagram profile where he shares photos of his finds.

Mikkel has a great interest in the past that lies waiting to be dug up, and whether it is from the Bronze Age or more recently, each find has its own story to tell. Denmark’s sagas are brought to life when Mikkel stands with a find from the Viking Age while Odin’s ravens hover over him.

He chooses to use the best equipment, this applies to both metal detectors and digging equipment, as life is too short for anything else.
